The Everett based Washington Rush G93 girls soccer team extended their tournament winning streak to eight and an overall record of 22-2-2 for the 2011 season by winning the nationally recognized San Diego Surf Cup this past holiday weekend.

The Rush girls went 5-0 on the weekend beating teams from Australia and Southern California in round robin bracket play. They then beat the Colorado State Champions in an overtime Semi-Final thriller that saw Rush come from two goals behind before Jackson High School and University of Oregon bound Cara Wegner score the eventual game tying and winner in overtime. The finals had the team matched up with a highly rated Oregon team where Rush took an early lead in the championship game from Archbishop Murphy and University of Nevada bound Kelly Gould. The goal ended up being all that it would take for Rush to win the tournament. Lakewood Goal Keeper and California State San Bernardino bound Miranda Head recorded the shutout.

Congratulations to the Washington Rush Girls GU18 Nike on another great tournament!
