WA Rush Team success stories at WA Rush Cup

1st Annual Washington Rush Cup 2011
Washington Rush had mnay team accomp-lishments in their first held club tournament. Please read below on teams that succeeded during the tournament.
GU11 Nike
The GU11 Nike Girls won there second tournament of the year defeating the Islanders in the final of the Washington Rush Tournament. The girls were missing 3 players but in spite of being short handed show a lot of heart in wining the close games. Their tough team defense set up their transition goals. Congratulations to the girls on this hard fought achievement.
BU13 Nike

The BU13 Nike Boys won the Washington Rush Tournament playing up in the u-14 division. This was their second tournament win of the season and in the final they had to overcome being down twice in the game 1-0 and 2-1. This game was not settled until the final minute when Rush scored to take a 4-3 lead. Battling the bigger opponents and a goalie that could kick the ball three quarters of the field was a major challenge for the boys who stepped up and used their superior passing and speed to finally win this exciting game.
GU13 Swoosh
The GU13 Swoosh girls won the 1st Annual Washington Rush Cup Tournament Silver division. After a week at the Rush Festival held in Albuquerque, New Mexico playing in temperatures in the mid 90's to 100. The team came home to gear up for the 1st Annual Washington Rush Cup. After playing four games in the week and trainings in the afternoon the Swoosh girls rose to the occasion by defeating NW United Demolition in their first game Friday eyeing. First game Saturday the girls played a very tough team in Snohomish United Red who defeated Swoosh. With a second game Saturday the girls prevailed be beating a tough and tenacious Whatcom Rangers G98 Royal. Taking second place in points the Swoosh girls were playing Snohomish United Red in the final. Both teams battled hard and aggressively. Tied at regulation both teams faced penalty kicks. Snohomish made their first two but Swoosh hung in and at the end of 8 rounds Swoosh girls came out on top and taking first place. Parents and the coaching staff are very proud of the accomplishments made this past week. After playing 7 days straight and 8 games the Swoosh girls proved what they are made of. Congratulations girls!!!
