Select Director
Dave has been coaching youth soccer for over 15 years, joining Washington Rush in 2014. Dave grew up in Shoreline, WA where he graduated from Shorecrest High School and then the University of Washington. Dave holds a USSF "E" license and has coached both boys and girls through U18. In 2023, Dave was named the Select Director for Washington Rush.
Some of Dave's favorite coaching memories include every single travel tournament to Portland where his teams competed against out of state opponents, had the opportunity to bond off the pitch, and he could buy one of every item at the Adidas Employee Store. Another recent memory was his 2009 team winning the final at Skagit Firecracker in a penalty kick shootout. As a coach, Dave enjoys teammates inspiring each other with their creativity on the ball, helping them understand the importance of off-the-ball movement and the overall evolution of them learning to play as a team, and have fun doing it.
Off the field, Dave is a finance manager for Nordstrom, where he has worked for over 20 years. He and his wife, Cindy, have 2 "kids" ages 17 and 19. And they grow them tall at the Perry house, with Cindy being the shortest at 6' and their son Drew the tallest at 6'5". When not coaching soccer, Dave enjoys traveling with his family, holding onto his youth by building LEGO sets, and is always on the lookout for the latest dad joke to share with anyone that will (and won't) listen.
