Junior Academy FAQs

How are teams picked?

There are no tryouts – all players are placed on a Rush Junior Academy team. We do take into consideration age and individual skill level. Initial teams will be formed prior to our first session and we will make adjustments after the first training session if needed.

Who coaches Junior Academy teams?

All teams are coached by Rush Coaching Staff. You can learn more about our coaches here: Here

Can I play on my spring recreational team or US Club team and still participate?

Yes! We encourage teams playing in the North County and US Club spring leagues to sign up.

Is space limited?

Yes. Due to the age and desire to have a proper player to coach ratio, we limit the number of accepted players. This program fills up quickly, so be sure to register early! If the session you would like to sign up for is full, please make sure to sign up on our waitlist and we will contact you if space becomes available.

What should my player wear?

All players will receive a Rush Junior Academy shirt to be worn to training and games. Players are responsible for providing their own shorts, socks and shin guards and soccer cleats. Players should bring a size four ball and water bottle to trainings.

What do I do once I am registered?

Confirmation emails will be sent once you are registered to the Junior Academy. A more detailed email will be sent out in the week prior to the program start date.

Does Junior Academy play in the rain?

YES! Kasch Park weather can be very unpredictable - please make sure that your player dresses appropriately. As the weather conditions vary throughout the year, know that it is fine for players to wear sweatshirts and coats over their Junior Academy jersey.
