Matt Pele

Coach

Back To Coaching Staff

Soccer runs in the family for Matt.  Growing up in Puyallup, Pele’s family introduced the game to him at an early age, and he developed a love for the game.  His continued passion for the game has been his inspiration for coaching youth today. Matt was a standout recruit and accepted a scholarship to Western Washington University where he earned a degree in Communications. While attending Western, Matt was a strong attacking mid and was named the conference player of the year and honored as an All-American for his achievements.  Matt went onto play professionally for the Victoria Highlanders for two years in Canada and had a couple stints with the Vancouver Whitecaps and Portland Timbers.

Matt brings an impressive resume of over 10 years of coaching experience. He got his start at the Whatcom Academy and went on to coach at the Three Rivers Soccer Club out of Pasco. While he was a youth coach at Three Rivers, he also coached for Kamiakan High School. Prior to joining the Washington Rush coaching staff in 2016, Matt coached for Pac NW.

Matt relishes the opportunity to coach the youth soccer players of today. Matt explains, “I want to give back to the game that gave me so much.” The experiences he has shared with teammates and the relationships he has created throughout his life because of soccer have helped shape him into the coach and person he is today.

Matt holds his USSF C License.
